No. Your membership information is strictly confidential. BCAS does not publish or share membership lists with employers, government departments, or any external organizations. Only authorized administrative staff have limited access to verify payments and manage member communications.

Your privacy and safety are our top priorities. BCAS is an independent non-profit organization, separate from the Government of Canada or any employer. We store member data securely and in compliance with federal privacy laws. We never disclose member names, affiliations, or personal details without explicit consent.

• Board of Directors: Oversees strategy, governance, and financial stewardship.

• Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act: BCAS is governed by this federal law, which requires proper record-keeping, reporting, and responsible use of funds.

• Annual Review Engagement: Conducted by an independent Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) to ensure BCAS’s books are accurate and free from material misstatement.

• Annual Reports: Summaries of activities, campaigns, and financial overviews are shared with members and the public to demonstrate transparency and impact.

No. BCAS does not provide individual representation in workplace disputes, grievances, or complaints. Our role is to educate and empower members about their rights, and to advocate for systemic change so those rights are respected across workplaces.

We help members understand the recourse available to them through unions, human rights commissions, or legal processes. When patterns of discrimination emerge, BCAS may launch national campaigns or policy advocacy to drive broader reform.

Individual Membership: Change-Maker can be eligible for tax deductions under subparagraph 8(1)(i)(iv) of the Income Tax Act (the "Act") re: “to maintain membership in an association of public servants the primary object of which is to promote the improvement of the members’ conditions of employment or work,”
